WHERE TO EXPLORE IN OTHELLO

Museums, arts and crafts, a vibrant farmer’s market and city parks provide fun and interesting things to do for every member of the family. Beyond town, Othello is surrounded by one of the most diverse recreation areas in Eastern Washington. More than 50 nearby lakes provide water sports opportunities as well as great fishing. Hunting and camping areas abound. In the nearby hills, discover unequaled panoramic views and glorious sunsets.

COLUMBIA NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

Formed first by the floods of molten lava and later outburst from Ice Age lakes, the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge reveals the history of geology. It is a mixture of cliffs, canyons, lakes and sagebrush grasslands comprising 30,000 acres. A drive of 22 miles will take you through some of the most dramatic landscapes. Public entry is permitted between sunrise and sunset, all other hours the refuge is closed to public use. No off-roading is allowed, however licensed motorized vehicles and bicycles are permitted on graveled roads. Three hiking trails have been developed. October 1 and March 1 only Frog Lake Trail remains open. Camping is not allowed, fishing and hunting regulations and information is available at refuge headquarters.
